Leasehold Block Fundamentals is Live on Learn-Link

We are thrilled to announce that Leasehold Block Fundamentals is now live.

This is a major moment for The Block Coach. It is a brand new course, delivered through our brand new learning management system, Learn-Link.

After months of development, planning, recording, testing and building, Leasehold Block Fundamentals is finally here.

Leasehold Block Fundamentals is now available through Learn-Link.

A Course for the Wider Leasehold Sector

In October 2025, The Block Coach released its first on-demand online course, New Block Manager: Career Jumpstart.

That course continues to go from strength to strength, but Leasehold Block Fundamentals is different.

New Block Manager: Career Jumpstart is aimed at property managers, estate managers and those who want to build a career in residential block and estate management.

Leasehold Block Fundamentals is for the wider sector.

It has been built for everyone who needs to understand how leasehold blocks work, but who may not be a property manager themselves.

That includes:

  • Contractors working in blocks of flats
  • Resident Management Company and RTM directors
  • Leaseholders who want to understand the basics
  • Solicitors, surveyors and other professional advisers
  • Support teams within managing agents
  • Suppliers and service providers working with managing agents
  • Anyone entering the leasehold sector for the first time

Based on our research, the leasehold sector contributes around £12 billion to the wider UK economy.

These buildings need repairing. They need maintaining. They need insuring, inspecting, funding, cleaning, managing, communicating around and legally administering.

Importantly, much of that economic activity does not sit with managing agents alone. Around £11 billion of that wider sector value flows into the broader network of contractors, consultants, insurers, advisers, suppliers, site teams and other professionals who support leasehold blocks.

That is exactly why this course matters.

Leasehold knowledge sits across a wide sector

Leasehold block management is not a small or simple subject.

There are already many highly knowledgeable people working across the sector, including property managers, lawyers, surveyors, accountants, contractors, consultants, insurers and resident directors. Each brings a different type of expertise.

A solicitor may understand the legal framework in depth.

A building surveyor may understand defects, building fabric and major works.

A contractor may understand the practical realities of maintaining buildings day to day.

A managing agent may understand how these issues come together operationally, financially and legally across a live estate.

The challenge is that leasehold blocks are interconnected environments. Decisions about repairs, service charges, leases, insurance, meetings, health and safety and communication often overlap.

That means people do not always need to become specialists in every area, but they do benefit from understanding the wider system they are working within.

Leasehold Block Fundamentals has been created to provide that structured overview.

It gives learners a clear, practical introduction to how leasehold blocks work, how the main responsibilities fit together, and why good decisions often depend on understanding more than one part of the picture.

Six structured modules

The course takes learners through six structured modules, giving them a clear and practical grounding in the fundamentals of leasehold block management.

The aim is not to turn everyone into a property manager.

The aim is to help people understand the environment they are working in.

If you are a contractor, it helps you understand how your work fits into the service charge and maintenance process.

If you are an RMC director, it helps you understand your responsibilities and the decisions being put in front of you.

If you are a professional adviser, it gives you better context for the buildings, clients and managing agents you support.

If you work inside a managing agent but are not a property manager, it helps you understand the language, pressures and processes around you.

In short, it is a course for anyone who needs a proper introduction to leasehold blocks.

Delivered through Learn-Link

Leasehold Block Fundamentals is also the first major course to be launched through our new learning management system, Learn-Link.

We made a big decision during this project.

Rather than trying to force our courses into an off-the-shelf platform that did not quite fit what we wanted to create, we decided to build our own learning environment.

That was not the easy route, but it was the right one.

At The Block Coach, we are building something highly bespoke for the leasehold, block and estate management sector. We are not simply uploading videos and calling it training.

We want learners to have access to a modern, interactive and practical learning experience. Learn-Link allows us to combine video learning, structured reading, gamified activities, assessments, certificates and wider resources in one place.

It also allows us to build more sophisticated programmes over time, combining core Block Coach content with carefully selected learning from trusted third-party providers.

More than one course

Learn-Link is not just a home for Leasehold Block Fundamentals.

It is the beginning of a broader learning ecosystem.

Through Learn-Link, users can access core Block Coach courses as well as a wider compliance and training library through our service partner network.

That wider library includes access to more than 150 courses, including recognised health and safety, compliance and professional development content.

We are also building programmes that can include IOSH qualifications, IIRSM certifications and specialist block management training, depending on the needs of the learner or organisation.

This is an ambitious project, but that is the point.

The leasehold sector is changing quickly. Training needs to catch up.

Monthly group coaching included

We also know that learning is often strongest when people have the chance to ask questions, hear real examples and connect the course content to the situations they are actually facing.

That is why learners also get access to monthly group coaching.

This gives users the opportunity to go beyond the course material and explore the practical realities of leasehold block management with The Block Coach.

For many learners, that combination of structured online training and live group support will be hugely valuable.

Who is Leasehold Block Fundamentals for?

Leasehold Block Fundamentals could be right for you if:

You work for a managing agent and want to understand the terms, processes and legal background more clearly.

You are a contractor who wants a stronger commercial advantage when working with blocks of flats.

You are an RMC or RTM director who wants to understand your role and responsibilities more confidently.

You are a leaseholder who wants to make better sense of service charges, meetings, maintenance and the way your building is run.

You are a professional adviser who wants a stronger practical grounding in how leasehold blocks operate.

Or you may simply be new to the sector and need a clear, structured starting point.

Raising the bar for leasehold training

Leasehold Block Fundamentals is a big step forward for The Block Coach.

It reflects what we believe the sector needs: clearer explanations, better training, more practical support and a learning experience that actually fits the world of residential block and estate management.

Leasehold can be complicated, but the fundamentals can be taught clearly.

That is what this course sets out to do.

Leasehold Block Fundamentals is now live on Learn-Link.

If you know someone who needs a proper introduction to leasehold blocks, this course was built for them.
